AL24 Processing: Analogue waveform reproduction technology
AL24 Processing interpolates signals that have been lost when the
source was recorded as digital data and reproduces the original
analogue waveform. By producing an analog waveform that is as
close as possible to the one that existed when the digital recording
was made, it is possible to enjoy the realism of a concert hall, for instance,
where the music contains reverberations and other delicate
details.
Compressed Audio Restorer, to enhance digital music files
During playback of compressed audio sources such as WMA and
MP3, Compressed Audio Restorer interpolates data that has been
lost during compression in order to restore the original condition
as closely as possible and correct the sense of volume in the low
range. When these audio files are played through the CARA, it is
possible to enjoy a quality of sound that is very close to the original
prior to compression.

with greater accuracy.

Frequently-used buttons are arranged on the front,
while buttons used less frequently are placed on
the rear. Frequently-used buttons are also larger
and given different colours for easy identification.

the TV, switches the TV’s input line, and immediately

X-Space Surround Sound
The cabinet of the front unit contains 6 speakers. X-SPACE SURROUND is technology that uses those speakers to generate surround algorithms. The sound waves released from the speakers irradiate throughout the room, so that listeners hear the sound from the front left and right, the centre, and the rear left and right. Since X-SPACE SURROUND sends the sound waves out over a wide area, listeners can enjoy surround sound at any location in the room.
5-channel equal power output
5 channel equal power is a feature used in Denon Amplifiers with the means of connecting 5 speakers independantly which do not require separate power amps connected via the pre-outs. This compliments the sound formats from Dolby and DTS that support 5.1 surround. The amplifier has built in separate internal amplifiers to power each channel independently, this system ensures that the 5 major channels Front Left, Front Right, Center, Surround Left, Surround right. Thus allowing you to enjoy the same high power output, giving a balanced and truly high-impact surround-sound environment.
AL24 Processing
AL24 processing supports multi-channel DVD-Audio for all channels. This includes the zone 2 multi-channel theater channels, for optimum fidelity and low level detail reproduction in both the main zone as well as the second multi-channel zone 2 system.

Dolby TrueHD
Dolby TrueHD is a completely loss-free Audio-Codec for high resolution audio for up to 8 channels Supporting 24-Bit and sampling rates up to 192 kHz. It requires specific Dolby HD decoders. Since the resulting signal is bit-to-bit to the master you can achieve the ultimate in audio quality.
Dolby Virtual Speaker
Dolby Virtual Speaker technology simulates a highly realistic 5.1-speaker surround sound listening environment from two speakers. Dolby Virtual Speaker technology also creates a wider two-channel environment during playback of stereo CDs and MP3s, and when combined with Dolby Pro Logic II processing, delivers a virtual surround listening experience from any high-quality stereo source. More than a simple "expanded stereo" performance, Dolby Virtual Speaker incorporates highly advanced algorithms and extensive room-modeling technologies to reproduce the sonic spectrum and dynamics of a properly placed 5.1-speaker system in a room.
DTS-HD
DTS-HD (High Definition) is a progression of DTS for high performance audio supporting upto 8 channels with a resolution of 24-Bit and sampling of upto 192 kHz. The differences between the formats is as follows: DTS-HD High Resolution Audio This format works like DTS however it uses a more effective compression algorithm, offering greater compression, the result is an audio signal almost bit for bit to the master while requiring a smaller amount of data. DTS-HD Master Audio This format is completely lossless with only minimal compression. The resulting audio signal is bit-for-bit to the master giving you the optimum in audio quality. A/V-Receivers with this logo can decode both formats, BD- or HD-DVD-Players with this logo can either decode or output the DTS-HD signal via HDMI.
HDMI-output (HDCP)
HDMI (high definition multimedia interface), a new connector that bases itself on the DVI-HDCP model. HDMI supports uncompressed high definition video plus multi-channel audio in a single cable using a smaller connector that eliminates the need for multiple cables in home entertainment systems, simplifying installation and eliminating cross technology confusion. It transmits uncompressed digital video so that the picture maintains a high quality of color depth, brightness and contrast. It also supports Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) based on the AV.link protocol so it can be controlled with a universal remote that is used with multiple HDMI sources such as Denon DVD players. HDMI supports bi-directional coommunciation between devices, allowing DVD players to communicate with Plasma's, LCD screens and Projectors, as long as they are HDCP compatible. The HDMI connection supports every uncompressed standard, enhanced and high definition video format ranging from 480I to 480P, 720P, 1080I and 1080P as well as existing PAL formats. It also has the bandwidth to support compressed audio formats such as Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, DTS, DTS EX and uncompressed formats (PCM audio) up to eight channels, up to 192kHz, up to 24-bits. High Definition Multimedia Interface(HDMI) and High Definition Content Protection (HDCP) is a copyright protection system installed on most Plasmas, LCD's and projectors consisting of a HDMI or DVI input. All Denon DVD players require HDCP compliant displays to be fully compatible. It prohibits the copying of copyrighted material, like onto a VCR or DVD-recorder.
